Strange, in my case the file was opened by FlexiPDF after pressing OK on the password required message.

The feature for creating QR codes is not included in SoftMaker FreeOffice.

You can see a list of these compatibilty options, when you click on the "Compatibilty" button on the View tab, but as the manual states, it is not recommended to change these options.

Concerning the item, that your interface language was not changed (I cannot imagine, that it does not):
In the File | Options dialog box in PlanMaker, please ensure, that you change the Dialog language on the Appearance tab.
The language on the Language tab is meant for Spell check.
