One of the reasons I like Softmaker, is that is European software that sticks to GDPR law. I very much appreciate that Deepl is used as a translating service, as a result. However, the use of Chatgpt seems an odd addition to me, particularly as there is a imho suitable European Replacement in MIstral.ai, which also offer AI enginges of different nature. I have been using their service for half a year now and in 90% of the cases it is as good as chatgpt (particularly for the kind of work I do in Softmaker. I even have the impression that their non-English language models may be better trained, but I may be wrong here).
Of course I don't know compatibiltiy, prices, or business agreements but in the long run, it would seem a no-brainer to me to move to a European AI provider. If people want to use that service, at least with a European company there are some assurances that your data is not used for all kinds of purposes (sometimes even without asking first).
Alternatively, maybe you can find a way to link with Mistral.ai with an API, so users can use it in that way?
Anyway, I hope you can implement this change in a next version, or like to hear why this would not be a good idea.
Replace Chatgpt with Mistral.ai
Re: Replace Chatgpt with Mistral.ai
Thank you for your post. I am not sure but have forwarded this improvement suggestion…
Re: Replace Chatgpt with Mistral.ai
Thanks for forwarding! Dare I ask what makes you unsure? Always interesting to hear a bit more about why certain decisions are made one way or another, so I am curious to learn!
