Why don't you just press the Hide button? That's the little button in the vertical center / horizontal left of the sidebar.

Why switch to something inferior over the fact that the company uses the FREE version to promote its flagship commercial product? Most free apps are add-supported. The ads on most free cell phone apps are far more obnoxious and intrusive. Do you seriously expect SoftMaker to give away FREE software that does 90% or more of the paid version without ANY advertising?

You can always try LibreOffice or OpenOffice, but those are both much larger in terms of space requirements, they require more computer resources, they're not as easy to learn ... and they don't provide nearly as good file compatibility with Microsoft Office (which may or may not be important to you -- it's extremely important to me).
