Free Office 2024 for Windows is 32 bit?

Post by sbungay »

I just downloaded FreeOffice 2024 for my Windows 10 machine and the Help About informs me it's a 32 bit version. It is refusing to load some DOCX files on Windows, but on Linux my 2021 version works perfectly (it is 64 bit) and on Windows Libre Office 64 bit also works perfectly. Can the older version (2021) still be obtained?

There is no problem in using 32-bit software in 64-bit Windows. If you wish to use a native 64-bit version, feel free to use the commercial version, SoftMaker Office.

To help us investigate the DOCX issue, please provide the following:

1. A screenshot of the error message you see when trying to open the DOCX file.

2. The file itself that you are unable to open.

If the file contains private or sensitive information, please email it directly to forum[at]softmaker.com and include a link to this forum post for reference.
