Keep getting message about pdf from scanned document

I downloaded a pattern from online. When I try to add text boxes (to make some notes on it) I keep getting these messages that it looks like I am working on a document that was scanned.
Okay, maybe it was scanned. Can I "flatten" it somehow so I can make notes on it?

I tried printing it to pdf again - that didn't work.

We are unable to reproduce the issue. Please share the file on which you are working and the screenshot of the dialog box which is coming while you are adding textbox.
