Active table of contents

Hello,
I'm trying to create a table of contents in my document. The problem is that the one that gets created is not active, I mean, I can't click a page to go to it automatically. How can I do that?
Another question is, can I convert the first word of a paragraph into a title? As I see, it takes automatically the whole paragraph as the title, so when I create the table of contents, it takes all the paragraphs.

The first item has not been implemented the last time I checked. This functionality has been requested. Maybe the next version?

Use the Document map. View->Sidebar

The advantage over the contents page is that it's always present.
