In experimenting with widow and orphan protection in TextMaker, I opened a sample document and looked for how to turn on widow and orphan protection using the Classic menu. I found it, but it does something unexpected -- and unacceptable.
My sample document is set using Times New Roman in 12-point, except for one paragraph that uses Arial in 12-point. In the default file (number -01), widow and orphan protection is not turned on.
When I turned it on, although I made NO other changes to the paragraph format other than checking the box for widow and orphan control, TextMaker decided to re-fomat ALL the Times New Roman paragraphs from 12-point to 11-point.
Why did it do that, and how can I prevent it from doing the same thing when I am working in an actual document, where the format matters?
