File Format

Post by dixierebel »

When I save a doc, I select docx as the file format. The docs are all being saved as both .bak and .docx. What do I need to do to save only as .docx? Thank you.

The .bak files are automatic backup files. Go to Tools > Options..., tab "Backup", and uncheck "Keep older versions of the document" to stop saving them.

Is it possible to disable this function (backup) during the installation stage or disable it immediately for all users of the computer?

No, backup is an important feature to prevent data loss, so it shouldn't be deactivated during installation.
