BUG Report: Chinese Font (e.g., SimSun) Not Displayed Correctly When Opening Word Documents on Android Tablet
Product: SoftMaker Office for Android
Device: Android Tablet
Issue Type: Font Display Bug
1. Bug Description
After importing Chinese fonts (e.g., SimSun) into SoftMaker Office for Android, the font is only shown as its English name "SimSun" in the font list (instead of the Chinese name "宋体").
A more critical issue occurs when opening Word-created documents that use the "宋体" font: SoftMaker Office fails to display the text in the correct SimSun font automatically. To view the text normally, I have to manually select all the text and reassign the font to "SimSun" from the font list.
2. Reproduction Steps
1. Import a Chinese font (e.g., SimSun) into SoftMaker Office for Android.
2. Check the font list in SoftMaker Office: the imported Chinese font is labeled "SimSun" (no Chinese name "宋体" displayed).
3. Use SoftMaker Office to open a Word document that was originally formatted with the "宋体" font.
4. Observe the text display: the text does not use the SimSun font by default.
5. Manually select the text, go to the font list, select "SimSun", and the text then displays correctly.
3. Expected Behavior
When opening a Word document that uses the Chinese font, SoftMaker Office for Android should automatically recognize the Chinese font setting and display the text in the imported Chinese font (without requiring manual font re-selection).
Additionally, it would be better if the imported Chinese font could display its Chinese name in the font list for clearer identification.

Thanks for your reply. I’d already enabled the "Extended support for Asian fonts" option before reporting this issue, but the problem remains.
