License migration

Post by Woody44 »

I have a couple of desktop computers, several laptop, and a Microsoft Surface tablet, all running Windows 10. None of these devices qualifies to switch to Windows 11. Unless Microsoft changes their minds again, security updates will end in October of this year.

I have SoftMaker Office Professional on most of these devices, and on a couple I have either SoftMaker Officer 2021 or FreeOffice 2021.

I am seriously considering migrating all of these computers from Windows to Linux (probably LMDE6 or LMDE7). It is my understanding that the license for SoftMaker Office allows installation on five (5) devices, across all platforms. How do I migrate my licenses? Do I simply remove (uninstall) the software under Windows, then after changing the device to Linux I can reinstall SoftMaker Office using my same activation code? Even if I had previously used the activation code on multiple computers?

Thank you.
