Weird saving stuff.

Hi all, I am just starting with Textmaker NX and so far I really like it but it has some rweird stuff going on. In my file manager I see only this one file as per the first screenshot attached. The Recent Documents drop down never populates so I have to go Open>Browse documents. I open the one file, make changes and hit Save. It demands to know which format I want to use (even though it was a DocX when I opened it) and so I just choose the same format and the same name but, each time (well, it seems to be just the first time in each session) I save it saves it with this nonsensical name and adds that to the folder although it's still not visible in my file manager. I just want to be able to open a DocX, edit it and save, overwriting the old version.

Anyone know what's going on here?
